Popular for being central to the legend of Robin Hood, Nottingham is one of the most
student-friendly cities in the country. Located in central England’s Midlands region, the city is

The city showcases multiple exhibition spaces, such as Nottingham Contemporary which is

arts, Theatre Royal and Nottingham Playhouse are the places to visit.

The famous Rock City, with a capacity of 10,000-plus guests, is one of the largest music
venues in the country. Nottingham has some other big names to add to the list, with Stealth
and Rescue Rooms, where you’ll find all the big artists, up-and-coming acts, along with
various other bands. Around summertime, you can be a part of the Download Festival which
is hosted at Donington Park.
4. Shop ‘til you drop
With two major shopping centres in the heart of the city – Broadmarsh and the Victoria
Centre – there is no dearth of place where you can spend. For the bargain lovers, take a
stroll along the Old Market Square where you’ll find high street favourites. This is one reason
why Nottingham is ranked as one of the top-rated shopping destinations in the UK.
5. A dash of fresh air
Sherwood Forest, the place associated with the legendary story of Robin Hood, is a short
drive or train ride away from the city. During the weekend, explore the Peak District National
Park or head to Arboretum Park to unwind and relax.
